Welcome to Life Skills of Summit County!  We're here to help you earn your high school diploma.

We are located on the west side of Akron, right down the street from the Rolling Acres Mall.  If you're coming off the highway, we are off of Rt. 77 (V. Odom Blvd.exit) in the plaza next door to the Aldi Grocery Store.  Metro Bus Routes #3, 9, and 14 serve our location.  The student/visitor parking is on either side of our building.

Nearly 175 students have earned their state-recognized high school diploma at our Life Skills.  Some of our former students work in restaurants, nursing homes, Akron City Hospital, roofing & construction companies, landscaping businesses, and auto auctions.

Our graduates are caring folks who volunteer at their churches, and, along with the staff, our current students participate in the community.  We collect Pennies for Patients (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society), volunteer for the Salvation Army Food & Gift Drive during the Christmas season, and we read to elementary students from the Imagine School.

Come experience Life Skills for yourself!

About Life Skills of Summit County:

  • Instruction is primarily computer-based.
  • Qualified teachers act as facilitators to help guide the students' learning.
  • All students have the same graduation requirements as public school students.

Child Find Policy:

Children with disabilities are not always visible. In some cases, parents are not even aware of the fact that their child has a disability and are also unaware of services that are available to assist them. Life Skills Center of Summit County is interested in meeting the needs of all children, including those with disabilities. If you know of a child who may have disabilities, please contact the Administrator  at 330-745-3678 for more information.
