Welcome to Life Skills of Springfield!  We are here to help you earn your high school diploma.

We're located in the northwest corner of the Southern Village Shopping Center.  Springfield City Transit System stops directly in front of our center and there is ample parking in front of our center.

Nearly 350 students have earned their high school diploma at our school.  We have graduates working in the healthcare field, the food service industry, the U.S. Armed Forces, and the insurance industry.  Many of our graduates have gone on to college.

We're active in our community as well.  Four times a year, our center hosts a blood drive for the Community Blood Center.  Our students, staff members and their families participate.  For every person who is able to donate, two lives can be saved in area hospitals. Our students made and sent care packages to the troops in Iraq for Christmas. We collect canned goods for the Second Harvest Food Bank during the holidays each year, and we travel to area nursing homes to entertain and brighten the spirits of the elderly.

About Life Skills of Springfield:

  • Students attend class five days a week – one session per day.
  • Instruction is primarily computer-based.
  • Qualified teachers act as facilitators to help guide the students' learning.
  • All students have the same graduation requirements as public school students.
  • Once enrolled, students will be assisted in finding a job or an opportunity to provide community service.
  • Every student receives an individual academic and career plan which serves as his/her academic and life skills guide.
  • Tuition is free, just as in a traditional public school.
  • Upon graduation, the student earns an actual state-recognized high school diploma – not a GED – and valuable job experience.

Child Find Policy:

Children with disabilities are not always visible. In some cases, parents are not even aware of the fact that their child has a disability and are also unaware of services that are available to assist them. Life Skills Center of Springfield is interested in meeting the needs of all children, including those with disabilities. If you know of a child who may have disabilities, please contact the Administrator  at 937-322-2940 for more information.
