Welcome to LifeSkills of Winter Haven!  We are here to help you earn your high school diploma.

LifeSkills of Winter Haven is across from the State Farm building, in the same plaza as the Wal-Mart, Cato's, and the Shoe Department.  You can ride The Citrus Connection and the Winter Haven Area Transit (WHAT) to school, or if you drive, there is plenty of parking in front of the school.

We've helped many students - just like you - earn their high school diploma.  And get this - 98% of our graduates are either in school furthering their education, pursuing the military, or working!  Many of our working students are in the hospitality and food service industry or in retail.

Students who attend our LifeSkills are encouraged and inspired to keep achieving goals after graduation.  Staff members work with the students to help arrange their community service hours, find jobs, and locate housing.  We also provide seminars to engage students and give them tips on how to be productive members of society.

Our students develop bonds with different people in the building.  Everyone can find someone they identify with in our building; our staff is very diverse.

About LifeSkills of Polk County East:

  • Students attend class five days a week - one session per day.
  • Instruction is primarily computer-based.
  • Qualified teachers act as facilitators to help guide the students' learning.
  • All students have the same graduation requirements as public school students.
  • Once enrolled, students will be assisted in finding a job or or an opportunity to provide community service.
  • Every student receives an individual academic and career plan which serves as his/her academic and life skills guide.
  • Tuition is free, just as in a traditional public school.
  • Upon graduation, the student earns an actual state-recognized high school diploma - not a GED - and valuable job experience.
