Welcome to Life Skills of Northeast Ohio!  We are here to help you earn your high school diploma.

Here are some landmarks to help you find our school:  Lutheran Housing Association across the street, Savor the Flavor restaurant across the street, Larchmere Corner store on the corner, Church Usher's Association nearby, Sunbeam School and Jesse Owens Academy on same block, and Fairhill Community Center down the street.  Our school is served by RTA, or if you drive, you can park in the lot out front.

More than 350 students have earned their high school diploma at our Life Skills.  They have gone on to work at McDonald's, Wendy's, daycare centers, factories, landscaping and construction companies, Tower City, Applebee's, Target, Walmart, Big Lots, IHOP, Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and more.  Many of our students choose to enroll in area colleges where they further their education.

We're active in our community, too.  The Lutheran Housing Association holds monthly meetings at the school.  Students volunteer at various locations in the community.  The vocational class volunteers with University Hospitals.  Our students do a cleanup of Larchmere Avenue.  The school works with community associations such as the Larchmere Association and Shaker Heights Association.

About Life Skills of Northeast Ohio:

  • Students attend class five days a week – one session per day.
  • Instruction is primarily computer-based.
  • Qualified teachers act as facilitators to help guide the students' learning.
  • All students have the same graduation requirements as public school students.
  • Once enrolled, students will be assisted in finding a job or an opportunity to provide community service.
  • Every student receives an individual academic and career plan which serves as his/her academic and life skills guide.
  • Tuition is free, just as in a traditional public school.
  • Upon graduation, the student earns an actual state-recognized high school diploma – not a GED – and valuable job experience.

Child Find Policy:

Children with disabilities are not always visible. In some cases, parents are not even aware of the fact that their child has a disability and are also unaware of services that are available to assist them. Life Skills Center of Northeast Ohio is interested in meeting the needs of all children, including those with disabilities. If you know of a child who may have disabilities, please contact the Administrator  at 216-421-7587 for more information.
