Welcome to Life Skills of North Akron! We are here to help you earn your high school diploma.
We're easy to find, right on Brittain Road across from McDonald's. You can ride Metro Bus #12 and #19 to get to school, or park in front of the school if you drive.
More than 100 students have earned their high school diploma at Life Skills of North Akron. Some of them work in retail and others in the service industry and U.S. Armed Forces. Others are enrolled in higher education.
Our students and staff are active in the community, volunteering and reinforcing positive community interaction.

About Life Skills of North Akron:
- Students attend class five days a week – one session per day.
- Instruction is primarily computer-based.
- Qualified teachers act as facilitators to help guide the students' learning.
- All students have the same graduation requirements as public school students.
- Once enrolled, students will be assisted in finding a job or or an opportunity to provide community service.
- Every student receives an individual academic and career plan which serves as his/her academic and life skills guide.
- Tuition is free, just as in a traditional public school.
- Upon graduation, the student earns an actual state-recognized high school diploma – not a GED – and valuable job experience.

In some cases, parents are not even aware of the fact that their child has a disability and are also unaware of services that are available to assist them. Life Skills Center of North Akron is interested in meeting the needs of all children, including those with disabilities.
