Welcome to Life Skills of Elyria! We're here to help you earn your high school diploma.
Our school is located close to the Middway Mall in Elyria, just off Rt 57. Most of our students use the Lorain County Transit bus to get to school. Our parking lot serves as a transfer station, so it's very easy to get here. If you drive, there's plenty of parking behind the school building.
Nearly 300 students have earned their high school diploma at Life Skills of Elyria. Many of them are employed in the retail and service businesses in the area. Others have joined the U.S. Armed Forces or moved on to college.
Our staff and students are active in the community. Our Vocational Staff participates in the County Chamber of Commerce events and sponsors the American Red Cross Blood Drive, The Girl Scouts of America and many more local organizations. A few of our staff members volunteer their time to the local youth organizations as coaches.
About Life Skills of Elyria:
- Students attend class five days a week - one session per day.
- Instruction is primarily computer-based.
- Qualified teachers act as facilitators to help guide the students' learning.
- All students have the same graduation requirements as public school students.
- Once enrolled, students will be assisted in finding a job or or an opportunity to provide community service.
- Every student receives an individual academic and career plan which serves as his/her academic and life skills guide.
- Tuition is free, just as in a traditional public school.
- Upon graduation, the student earns an actual state-recognized high school diploma - NOT A GED - and valuable job experience.

Child Find Policy:
Children with disabilities are not always visible. In some cases, parents are not even aware of the fact that their child has a disability and are also unaware of services that are available to assist them. Life Skills Center of Elyria is interested in meeting the needs of all children, including those with disabilities.
