Welcome to Life Skills of Akron!  We're here to help you earn your high school diploma.

Like Skills of Akron is located near the downtown YMCA and across from Lock 3 at the intersection of Bowery Street and Water Street. You can use public transportation to get to school on Akron Metro route numbers 1, 4, 10, 28 and 34.  If you drive, there's parking across the street.

More than 1,200 students have earned their state-recognized high school diploma at Akron Life Skills, and you could be next.

We do some pretty special work for our community. We routinely hold blood drives at the school for the Red Cross.  Staff and students participate in Keep Akron Beautiful.  Students also participate in fundraisers such as Pennies for Patients which raises money for children with leukemia.

  • Every student receives an individual academic and career plan, which serves as his/her academic and life skills guide.

Child Find Policy:

Children with disabilities are not always visible. In some cases, parents are not even aware of the fact that their child has a disability and are also unaware of services that are available to assist them. Life Skills Center of Akron is interested in meeting the needs of all children, including those with disabilities. If you know of a child who may have disabilities, please contact the Administrator  at 330-376-8700 for more information.
